Sinigang Sa Bayabas

Guava soup base mix.

Few things could be more refreshing than a steming bowl of fish and vegetable soup, heavy with the natural flavor and aroma of tree Philippine Guavas. This is our Siningang Sa Bayabas which we would like to share with you.

Sinigang Sa Bayabas recipe (makes 5 servings)

1 bag (40 g) Mama Sita´s Sinigang Sa Bayabas
½ kg fish, preferably Bangus “Milkfish” (Chanos chanos)
3 cups (750 ml) water
1 small tomato, quartered
1 small onion, quartered
200 gr vegetables (long green beans, kangkong or spinach) cut into pieces of about 5 cm
2 ( 15 g) finger peppers
Fish sauce

1. In a saucepan combine water, onion, tomato and Mama Sita's Sinigang Sa Bayabas. Bring to a boil.
2. Add the fish and cook until almost done.
3. Add the vegetables and continue cooking until the fish and vegetables are done.
4. Add fish sauce to taste. Serve hot.
