Harvest: The 2017 harvest begins at Bodegas Perica on September 13 and ends on September 25. After a vegetative cycle marked by the severe frost in April and by drought, the campaign offered very satisfactory results in quality and very limited production. The excellent health of the vineyard throughout the vegetative cycle, with total absence of pests or important diseases, has been one of the most outstanding characteristics of a harvest whose harvest began in August, making it the earliest in the history of Rioja. The good weather that accompanied the end of the cycle and the improvement in production expectations greatly reduced both by drought and by the effects of the heavy frost resulted in a high quality harvest.

Grape varieties used: 90% Tempranillo, 5% mazuelo, 5% garnacha

COLOR: Intense garnet color with ruby reflections.
SCENTS: On the nose, it maintains notes of red fruit typical of Tempranillo, assembled with the aromas of its aging in wood such as vanilla, coffee or tobacco.
IN THE MOUTH: The palate is powerful and harmonious, with a medium body, long finish, spicy flavor and complexity. Faithful exponent of this winery.
VINIFICATION: After a selected harvest from the La Olagosa estate, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak vats. The aging takes place in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. It is then bottled and remains in the bottle for a time before going to market.
