A family business that connects the countryside of Pavia, Italy, with the whole world. Its products are the result of constant and careful control. The Okomesan brand is only awarded to rices that reflect all the necessary characteristics.
It all started when more than twenty years ago, a Japanese friend who owns a restaurant asked Hajime Morimoto for a rice suitable for Japanese cuisine that was easier to find, zero kilometer, cheaper and free of GMOs (unlike imported from America, which at that time monopolized the market). Thanks to the area in which the company was born and the knowledge that they have acquired through research, they have come to identify rice suitable for Japanese cuisine.
